He noted that Lafayette is offering incentives to attract businesses to their <br />downtown area. He asked that Council consider the downtown merchants of Louisville <br />when making decisions that will effect them. <br /> <br />Audrey Dyer, 651 W. Sandbar Circle, Louisville, CO, stated that she is a owner of hybrid <br />wolves and was shocked to learn of the City's ordinances prohibiting the keeping of such <br />pets. She reported that because of the City's hybrid wolf ordinance she and her family <br />have gone through an unbearable ordeal, which has caused much mental, emotional and <br />financial stress. She noted that hybrid wolves are genetically the same as dogs and there <br />is no evidence to prove otherwise. She stated that every breed of dog has its bad apples, <br />but that the reputation of the hybrid wolf is based on old wives tales and that the public is <br />grossly misinformed. She asked Council to repeal the ordinance stating that it is <br />unenforceable. <br /> <br />Jim Keaner, 788 West Lois Court, Louisville, CO spoke in support of the hybrid wolf <br />ordinance. He commended the Chief of Police and City Council for enforcing the <br />ordinance. He suggested that to avoid similar unfortunate situations, realtors give <br />prospective homebuyers and renters information relative to the local dog restrictions. He <br />stated that if the current ordinance is not enforceable, it should be rewritten to model the <br />City's pit bull ordinance, which will stand up in Court. <br /> <br />COUNCIL INFORMATIONAL COMMENTS ON PERTINENT ITEMS NOT ON <br /> THE AGENDA <br /> <br />Mayer reported that County Commissioner Stewart has provided a short concept paper <br />for transition to the Recycling Authority. He asked that the City Administrator copy and <br />distribute the report to Council for their comments. <br /> <br />Keany reported that Louisville Elementary School had a grand opening for their gym. He <br />voiced his disappointment that the school district did not invite the City to attend the <br />opening. <br /> <br />Levihn reported that the grand opening of the gym was just for the anxious students.
