Louisville City Council Meeting <br />September 19, 2000 <br />Page 9. <br /> <br />Mayer commented that parking is not available at night in the downtown area. <br /> <br />Sisk reviewed that the restaurant exemption is only for storage and bathrooms and not a <br />blanket exemption. <br /> <br />Brown commented that there is a lot of downtown parking spaces within walking <br />distance. He stated that it is a matter of the convenience of parking. <br /> <br />VOTE: Roll call was taken. Motion passed by a vote of 4-3. Davidson, Howard and <br />Mayer voted no. <br /> <br />Sisk asked that the revised Ordinance be put on the web site. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 42, SERIES 2000 - PUBLIC SERVICE COMPANY, <br />SPECIAL REVIEW USE TO UPGRADE THAT PORTION OF THE VALMONT <br />TO BROOMFIELD 115 (kV) OVERHEAD ELECTRIC TRANSMISSION LINE <br />WHICH IS LOCATED WITHIN THE CITY OF LOUISVILLE. THE RIGHT OF <br />WAY IS 75 FEET WIDE AND RUNS NORTH-SOUTH THROUGH THE CITY, <br />APPROXIMATELY 1/2 MILE EAST OF MCCASLIN BOULEVARD (continued <br />from 7/18/00) <br /> <br />Davidson called for Applicant summary. <br /> <br />Michael Diehl, 550 15th Street, Suite 700, Denver, CO, representing PSCo, made a <br />closing summary. He stated that almost every aspect of our lives depends on a reliable <br />supply of electricity. He reviewed a September 15, 2000 Xcel Energy letter to City <br />Administrator William Simmons. The letter stated the City Council's denial of the SRU <br />application jeopardizes PSCo's ability to supply reliable electrical service. Mr. Diehl <br />read the closing of the letter, which respectfully requested that the City Council <br />reconsider its September 5 vote and grant the SRU permit without any further delay. The <br />letter also stated that if the citizens of Louisville vote to issue bonds to pay to <br />underground this line, PSCO would work with the City to accomplish that task at the <br />earliest possible opportunity. <br /> <br />Davidson called for Staff summary. <br /> <br />Planning Director Paul Wood reviewed Public Service Company of Colorado (PSCo) <br />Special Review Use request to re-build an existing, aboveground, 115 kV electric <br />transmission line that was constructed in 1955 within a 75' wide Public Service right-of- <br />way which bisects the westerly half of the City of Louisville.
