City Council
Meeting Minutes
March 20, 2012
RESOLUTION No. 23, SERIES 2012 — A RESOLUTION APPROVING A ONE (1)
YEAR EXTENSION OF THE EXPIRATION OF THE PRELIMINARY SUBDIVISION
PLAT AND PRELIMINARY PLANNED UNIT DEVELOPMENT (PUD) PLAN FOR 2270
SOUTH 88TH STREET (CONOCOPHILLIPS), LOUISVILLE FROM APRIL 6, 2012 TO
APRIL 6, 2013
Planning Director Russ explained the applicant (ConocoPhillips) has requested a
second one-year extension of the expiration of a preliminary subdivision plat and
preliminary planned unit development (PUD) plan for 2270 South 88th Street. An
extension of the preliminary plat and preliminary development plan expiration dates
must be granted in order for the applicant to proceed to final subdivision plat and final
development plan after April 6, 2012. ConocoPhillips requests a second one-year
extension to April 6, 2013 to provide the sufficient time to complete internal reviews and
submit the final development plans for approval.
The second one-year extension of the approval time is the only modification being
requested to the preliminary plat and preliminary PUD plan. All other aspects of the
original plan approved by City Council remain unchanged. The one-year lifespan of the
preliminary subdivision plat and preliminary PUD enables the City to ensure proposed
development stays consistent with City codes and regulations. Staff recommended
approval of the second one-year extension of the expiration date of the preliminary
subdivision plat and preliminary PUD plan for ConocoPhillips, 2270 South 88th Street,
from April 6, 2012 to April 6, 2013 with no conditions.
APPLICANT PRESENTATION
Wayne McCreesh, representing ConocoPhillips, 3960 East 56th Avenue, Commerce
City, CO explained the reason for a second one-year extension is that the company is in
the process of splitting into two different companies. This split is scheduled to be
complete by the end of April. Phillips 66 will be the new owner of the property and will
make a decision on how they will proceed.
MOTION: Mayor Pro Tenn Dalton moved to approve Resolution No. 23, Series 2012,
seconded by Councilor Yarnell. All were in favor. Absent: Councilor Jasiak.
RESOLUTION No. 24, SERIES 2012 — A RESOLUTION DESIGNATING THE HIBLER
HOUSE LOCATED AT 612 GRANT AVENUE AN HISTORIC LANDMARK— PUBLIC
HEARING
Mayor Muckle opened the public hearing and requested a staff presentation.
Planning Director Russ explained the request before Council is to landmark a historic
residential structure located at 612 Grant Avenue. The structure was built between
1905 and1909. John Griffin is the applicant/ owner. This property is part of the 1894
Pleasant Hill Addition subdivision.
