Posted in City Hall, the Library, the <br />Recreation Center and the Police and Court Building on August 19, 2011. <br />Conflict of Interest and Disclosure: <br />None heard. <br />Staff Report of Facts and Issues: <br />Russreviewed the following information of the request: <br />Staff and the Louisville Revitalization Commission (LRC) are <br />recommending the Commission encourage City Council to amend Chapter <br />17.14 of the Louisville Municipal code (LMC) to allow ground floor multi- <br />dwelling unit apartments, condominiums, and townhomes in the Mixed <br />Use Residential (MU-R) Districtas a Special Review Use (SRU). <br />Purpose of the request is intended to improve the market viability of the <br />MU-R within the revitalization area. It is also to alleviate potential <br />residential builders of the unrealistic burden requiring non-residential <br />ground floor uses on multi-dwelling unit apartment, condominiums, and <br />townhomes internal to the revitalization area. <br />Allowing the use through the SRU process will ensure staff has the criteria <br />as tools to ensure a high quality and active pedestrian “Main Street” <br />environment consistent with the purpose and intent of the Mixed Use <br />Development Design Standards and Guidelines (MUDDSG). <br />A brief history/ background of the State Highway 42 Revitalization Area <br />was provided. <br />A review of the process followed by the LRC was discussed and how the <br />process led up to the request to modify the permitted used within the MU- <br />R. <br /> <br />
