Department of Planning and Building Safety
749 Main Street * Louisville CO 80027 * 303.335.4592 4 www.louisvilleCO.gov
Memorandum
Date: February 23, 2012
To: Planning Commission
From: Planning Division
Subject: Case No. 11- 024 -PP /UR Safeway Redevelopment Packet Items
There have been no changes to the Staff Report. Attached are copies of all
public comment letters and emails received by staff, including those received
after the February 9, 2012 Planning Commission meeting, and copies of the staff
presentation given at the February 9 meeting, as requested by Planning
Commission.
In response to public comment expressing concern about the ability of the
schools to accommodate new students, the letter staff received from the Boulder
Valley School District during the referral process for the proposed development is
also included. The letter details BVSD's estimates of the impacts on the area
schools, and concludes that Coal Creek Elementary, Louisville Middle, and
Monarch High Schools can each accept the anticipated number of new students
without reaching capacity. Staff defers to BVSD's expertise on this matter, and
accepts the school district's conclusion that the proposed development can be
accommodated by the existing schools.
Attachments
#1 — Public comment letters and emails
#2 — Staff presentations
#3 — BVSD referral response letter
