PAGE TWO <br />SUBJECT: SALES TAX REPORT FOR THE MONTH ENDED DECEMBER 31, 2011 <br />DATE: MAY 15, 2012 <br />Consumer use tax revenue for March 2012 increased 76.8% from March 2011 with YTD <br />st <br />revenue 164.9% above 2011 YTD. Much of the 1 quarter increase was from 2011 <br />collections and adjusted filing frequencies. Disregarding the 2011 collected amounts, <br />use tax is up 81% from this period last year and 94% above budget YTD, again, some of <br />the increase due to more frequent filing requirements. <br />The monthly and quarterly sales tax revenue by area reports represent the YTD retail <br />health of various sections of the City. These reports include all <br /> vendors remitting tax to <br />the City. <br />The Monthly Revenue by Area report for March 2012 indicates gains for the Interchange, <br />Louisville Plaza, McCaslin North, Downtown, Highway 42 South and the CTC areas. <br />st <br />The Quarterly Revenue by Area sales tax report for 1 <br /> quarter 2012 indicates increases <br />for Downtown, Pine Street Plaza, South Boulder Road, Outside City, Highway 42 South, <br />CTC, McCaslin North, the Interchange and the South Suburban areas. Revenues <br />st <br />declined for 1 <br /> quarter 2012 for Centennial Valley, Residential, Highway 42 North, and <br />the Louisville Plaza areas. Louisville Plaza will see declines as 2012 continues due to <br />the loss of Big Lots revenue. <br />The monthly and quarterly sales tax revenue by industry reports reflect the retail health <br />of individual industry sectors of the City. These reports include all vendors remitting tax <br />to the City. <br />The Monthly Revenue by Industry report for March 2012 indicates gains in Grocery, <br />Food/Beverage, Building Materials, Services, Manufacturing, Wholesale and Apparel <br />sectors. <br />st <br />The Quarterly Revenue by Industry sales tax report for 1 quarter 2012 indicates gains <br />for sectors; Construction, Manufacturing, Wholesale, Grocery, Building Materials, <br />Apparel, Furniture, Food/Beverage, Services, and Miscellaneous Retail. Declines for <br />2012 include the sectors; Agriculture, General Merchandise, Communications/Utilities, <br />Automotive, and Leasing/Financial. <br />The Restaurant Revenue report continues to show strong growth with all areas up <br />except for South Boulder Road and Louisville Plaza. <br />stst <br />The Historical quarterly report indicates 1 quarter 2012 ended 7.7% above 1 quarter <br />2011 revenues YTD. <br />6 <br />
