She thought the Safeway site could <br /> easily accommodate a small grocery store or a bakery. She felt the developer wants to <br /> expand the project throughout the shopping center and asked Council to vote no. <br /> Jen Gamblin, 541 Centennial Drive, Louisville, CO stated she lives west of the Steel <br /> Ranch development and has endured the construction noise from that project. She <br /> urged Council to deny this proposal because it is too big; the traffic is too intense and it <br /> is beyond the scope of the City of Louisville. <br /> Jean Morgan, 1131 Spruce Street, Louisville, CO stated this proposal is not right for this <br /> location. She noted the area will be impacted by the traffic and lack of parking. She <br /> stated this is not a mixed-use project. She stated there is great support for retuming <br /> this area to retail. She requested Council deny the proposal just as the Planning <br /> Commission did. <br /> Darlene Nahodyl, 2333 Dogwood Circle, Louisville, CO read an article about the <br /> uniqueness of Colorado municipalities. She stated to end the commercial components <br /> at the site, will end retail for the public and sales tax revenue for the City. She urged <br /> Council to deny this proposal. <br /> Susan Morris, 939 W. Maple Court, Louisville, CO stated so many Louisville residents <br /> have spoken in opposition to the proposal and stated their reasons. She asked Council <br /> not to send the proposal back to the Planning Commission, but to deny it. <br /> Gale Hartman, 724 Ponderosa Court, Louisville, CO added her support to the <br /> neighboring residents of Safeway property. She stated the City is beginning the Comp <br /> Plan update and citizens will offer their vision for the City of Louisville. She noted the <br /> Planning Commission rejected the proposal and requested the Council do the same. <br /> COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> Mayor Muckle stated the Council will continue the public hearing to the June 5, 2012 <br /> City Council meeting. <br /> Council member Jasiak requested City staff provide the following documents for the <br /> June 5, 2012 meeting: With respect to density, she requested the number of units in <br /> Christopher Village and nearby apartment complexes; clarification on the rules of the <br /> property being under contract to Loftus and whether that prohibited any commercial <br /> businesses leasing the property, and clarification on the number of townhomes and <br /> apartment units in the Steele Ranch development. <br /> Council member Loo asked the developer to split out the number of studio and one- <br /> bedroom units in their proposal. <br />
