Revitalization Commission
Minutes
DATE
LRC Workshop — The desire to refine the mission and guiding principles of the
Commission was put up for discussion by Chair Becker. The members
unanimously supported creating such a workshop, as did Staff. The workshop
will be held on June 4th at 6:30PM and June 18th at 6:30PM, with the potential for
a third meeting to be determined. Additional information will be provided via
email, including the location of the meetings and background documents that
have historically defined the mission of LRC.
Special Session with Historic Preservation Commission — Chair Becker
referred to a draft version of a letter, included in the packet, which invites HPC to
join LRC in a joint session. A motion to approve the letter, with edits to include a
possible date for the future meeting, was unanimously approved. The tentative
date of a meeting was suggested for some time during the week of July 30.
Questions should be referred to Director DeJong.
Urban Renewal Legislation — LRC Attorney Sam Light noted that a bill
regarding urban renewal was not introduced by the State Legislature this year.
Discussion Items for Next Meeting — Director DeJong suggested postponing
the previously discussed field trip to Westminster to a future date, rather than the
June meeting.
Commissioners' Comments — Commissioner Hernandez brought up the Town
of Superior's Town Center development proposal and suggested LRC may wish
to monitor this project as Urban Renewal and TIF are being utilized.
Adjourn — Meeting adjourned at 9:04.
