He has found
the input from youth to be invaluable. The youth are the ones who can be leaders in the
community. They can help keep other youth engaged, help plan programs to keep
Louisville youth entertained and content. We want our community to be held to a high
standard, so help them do it.
• Bonnie Star told the Youth Advisory Board that one of the real distinctions she has seen
in Louisville is that people are willing to DO things, not just show up to council meetings
and ask for things. Thanked the YAB for their willingness to serve the community.
She then explained her position with the city and how it focuses on the strategic plan for
Louisville, Economic Development and Primary Jobs. Two big parts of her job are
Business Recruitment and Business Retention.
• The YAB members also learned about the responsibilities of YAB members, making
S.M.A.R.T. goals, the open government rules of communication and worked on setting
goals for the upcoming year.
isSUBJECT
UPDATE DISCUSSION- YOUTH
ADVISORY BOARD
AGENDA ITEM
11
2
