City Council <br />Study Session Summary <br />May 22, 2012 <br />Page 2of7 <br />has one vacancy. Members work on projects that appeal to their interests and <br />capabilities. <br />2011 Accomplishments: <br />• Grants — finding money to support the LCC is never an easy thing. <br />- LCC awarded $1,500 from SCFD for 2011. <br />- Neodata gave $1,000 in 2011 for GOS (General Operating <br />Support) <br />- Community Foundation gave $750 for Art in Park purchase <br />- City of Louisville gave $5,000 for operating expenses which <br />covers Summer Concert Series and Bookkeeper expenses. <br />• 27 Events — 3,000+ Attendees <br />• Fundraising — designed and sold LCC t- shirts and stickers at events and <br />at recreation center for a total revenue of $1,211. This is a nice source of <br />funds that pay for a variety of things. <br />2012 Goals: <br />• Complete 2012 SCFD Grant Application — LCC is in Tier 3 — there are a <br />huge number of organizations requesting grant money and so this affects <br />the amounts awarded. <br />• Continue to provide high quality, low cost events for adults, seniors and <br />youth. <br />• Evolve and transition event offerings in response to addition of five newly <br />appointed members. Capitalize on the passions that members bring. <br />• Collaborate with other organizations offering art, music, theater, dance, <br />zoology, botany and natural history for the benefit of Louisville residents. <br />2012 Progress to Date: <br />• Initial SCFD grant application completed. <br />• First quarter programming completed with slight increase in audience over <br />2011. <br />• 23 events currently planned, including 4 summer concerts — LCC reported <br />that they now have a larger database to get the word out on events such <br />as the Coffeehouse Series. Space is at a premium and most of the events <br />take place at the Louisville Arts Center. <br />Collaborations — LCC collaborating with other groups such as Louisville Arts <br />Association, Art Underground, CU Boulder Museum, Colorado Wind Ensemble <br />and Stories on Stage. Beth Barrett, Library and Museum Director, has been a <br />big advocate for the LCC and collaborated with On the Same Page" reading <br />event where professional actors read sections from the selected book. <br />Sponsors — LCC has had the following sponsors for many of their events: Vic's <br />Coffee, Bittersweet Coffee, King Soopers, Gary Guerriero of Wheels on Reels, <br />The Fork, Nina's Flowers and Gifts, Wendy Fickbohm of State Farm, The <br />Huckleberry, and Glacier Ice Cream <br />
