He discussed the following: cost effective
services; multi-disciplinary; vibrant vs. sustainable; the meaning of active listening.
O’Connell complemented staff on a great job. They agree there is a need for either clear separation
or better integration.
Revised Draft Vision Statement and Core Values: The following represents the
modification to the Vision Statement and Core Values based on the discussion during
the meeting. Thanks to Scott Robinson for keeping an edited version of the
document.

VISION STATEMENT
‐

Established in 1878, the City of Louisville is an inclusive, familyfriendly
community that manages its continued growth by blending a forward-
thinking outlook with a small-town atmosphere which engages its
citizenry and promotes a walkable community form that enables social
interaction. The City strives to preserve and enhance the high quality
of life it offers to those who live, work, and spend time in the
community. Louisville retains connections to the City's modest mining
and agricultural beginnings while continuing to transform into one of
the most livable and economically diverse communities in the United
States. The structure and operation of the City will ensure an open
‐‐
and responsive government which integrates citizen volunteerism with
highquality, multidisciplinary, and costeffective services. Innovative
