Historic Preservation Commission <br />Meeting Minutes <br />June 18, 2012 <br />Page 7 of 10 <br />Watson it seems like we are speculating here. He recommended we invite the owners <br />to come speak to our board. He added we might be able to assist them in their <br />decision. <br />Koertje asked if the sign were removed could another roof sign be replaced. <br />McCartney stated no. <br />Museum Attic <br />Robinson presented the memo regarding high temperatures in the Museum Attic. <br />Lewis asked if any of the architects on the board are ventilation experts. <br />Watson stated he just finished a similar project and gave some recommendations. <br />Lewis stated the IBC has specific sections regarding ventilation and the Building <br />Department should be able to provide assistance. <br />Watson stated he would be happy to assist as well. <br />There was discussion between the architects regarding options for the temperature <br />issue. <br />Updates <br />Grain Elevator <br />Robinson presented the staff report written by Aaron Dejong to City Council. <br />Stewart stated he and Koertje were part of the subcommittee to review the request for <br />proposals. The primary question seemed to be about what funding the City would be <br />interested in providing. He asked staff if the HPC couldhave a voice in this discussion. <br />McCartney recommended the HPC should write a letter and present it at the meeting. <br />Discussion ensued regarding how the presentation to City Council should be handled. <br />Stewart stated the primary item we need to discuss is the funding amount. <br />La Grave agreed. <br />Stewart gave examples of how funding discussions have happened with City Council in <br />the past. He added acquisition is also another funding item to be discussed. <br />Lewis asked if staff needed a commentary from HPC for CityCouncil. <br />Robinson answered in the affirmative. <br />
