Historic Preservation Commission <br />Meeting Minutes <br />June 18, 2012 <br />Page 8 of 10 <br />Lewis then addressed the staff report from Aaron Dejong and stated there appeared to <br />be a huge amount of funding being requested for the City. <br />Robinson answered in the affirmative. <br />Koertje added the proposal also included other reimbursements being requested in the <br />proposal. <br />Discussion ensued regarding what the letter should state. <br />Stewart gave some specific discussion topics which should be included in the letter. <br />Lewis stated we should be behind this levelof scope. <br />La Grave stated there should be a sentence added there should be a limit on the <br />amount of funding which should be made available to this project. <br />Watson inquired what percentage of funding is to come from the City. <br />Robinson answered. <br />Watson stated the City should have the percentage equity. <br />Robinson stated there could also be low interest loans used. <br />There was more discussion regarding the equity of partnership involvement. <br />Lewis stated the HPC supports the project and we look forward to learning more details. <br />Koertje volunteered to draft the letter. <br />Stewart stated he and La Grave need to work more closely with the owner. <br />th <br />Robinson reminded the stay expires on July 13. <br />Austin Niehoff <br />McCartney gave an update stating the project will start in a few weeks once we receive <br />the signed contract by the state. <br />Reconnaissance Survey <br />McCartney gave an update and asked the HPC for a volunteer to assist on the scope of <br />work. <br />Stewart agreed. <br />Melanie Muckle presented her interest in the project and stated interest in this project is <br />growing. <br />
