Historic Preservation Commission
Meeting Minutes
April 16, 2012

Robinson - when the permit was released it was released without conditions - that is
something we could look into further.
Lewis - It is a contractor’s responsibility this sort of thing should not happen. They are
responsible for the shoring of the structures.
Koertje - we definitely need to learn from this. Maybe we could bring in the contractor to
learn from what mistakes happened and how we could avoid this in the future.
Jean Morgan - don't they get a preservation incentive if they keep the front facade.
Stewart - no, that is only if they don't demo more than 50% of the structure.
Lewis - we definitely should be kept in the loop when these things happen.
Robinson - from what we learned about the structure is the lack of foundation made this
a tough save. Definitely a learning experience.
Spring Outreach - Commercial Incentives Programs
Lewis - this will happen at the library on May 7th. We should do an outreach program
for the commercial incentives but we should coordinate better than we did last year.
There is a lot that goes into these programs.
Koertje - I agree. Plus we should include more people to assist. Last year's was pretty
heavy on only a few shoulders.
Stewart - I will begin work on an outline and bring it to the next meeting.
Updates
RFP Reconnaissance Survey / Austin Niehoff HSA
McCartney stated nothing can be done on this item until we receive a signed contract
Demo Code Change Status

Adjourn - 9:25
