City Council
Meeting Minutes
June 26, 2012
City Manager Fleming briefly addressed Capital Projects as a major theme. When the
operating budget is addressed, the Information Technology division is likely a major
topic; examining what makes sense as the City moves forward.
GOALS FOR 2013
Council liked the 2012 goals and wanted similar in 2013. Mayor Pro Tem Dalton
thought the staff had done a wonderful job of bringing together the goals and
addressing them with the budget. City Manager Fleming thanked his staff and gave
particular thanks to Finance Director Watson.
Mayor Muckle stated the budget process was not overwhelming with all the work staff
puts into it upfront. Council member Yamell thought the way the staff laid out the
budget made sense and provided the opportunity for Council to compare and evaluate.
City Manager Fleming said the projects were presented this year by showing all the
requests and the changes made by staff to balance the budget. This year some $81
million in requests, over all funds, were received. With the long term budget in mind,
funding for$58 million was determined.
City Manager Fleming asked Council to let him know if they had any suggestions for
additional items to include in the goals.
ADJOURN
MOTION: Mayor Pro Tern Dalton moved for adjournment, seconded Council member
Keany. All were in favor. The meeting was adjourned at 7:08 p.m.
u'
•
A 1°IltAktil
= SEAL Robert Muckle, Mayor
4 10
Carol Hanson, Deputy City Clerk
