City Council <br /> Meeting Minutes <br /> July 2, 2012 <br /> Page 2 of 4 <br /> Mayor Muckle called for changes to the Louisville consent agenda and hearing none, <br /> moved to approve the consent agenda, seconded by Mayor Pro Tern Dalton. All were <br /> in favor. <br /> A. Approve Renewal of the Boulder/Broomfield County HOME <br /> Consortium, Second Amendment to the HOME Consortium <br /> Intergovernmental Agreement(IGA) <br /> DISCUSSION ITEMS <br /> DIVERGING DIAMOND INTERCHANGE (DDI) <br /> Planning Director Russ provided a recap of the public meeting held on June 27, 2012. <br /> He stated tonight staff is seeking input from the elected officials on the design and <br /> construction to the US 36 Phase 2 project. The US 36 Phase 1 project is under <br /> construction from Pecos to 88th Street. Louisville is working with Phillips 66 and CDOT <br /> on the trail from 88th Street to 96th Street in Broomfield. <br /> Phase 2 is 88th Street to Table Mesa. The Request for Proposals (RFP) are in the final <br /> stages. Both municipalities have an interest in this phase with the bike trail along <br /> Scriffiny Open Space, the cemetery underpass, bike trail along Superior Town Center <br /> and the Coal Creek underpass. The topics for this meeting were the Diverging <br /> Diamond Interchange at McCaslin Boulevard and the Davidson Mesa underpass. <br /> Planning Director Russ addressed the RTD Bus Station locations: westbound on the <br /> Louisville side, show no alternatives to the current location. The eastbound side has <br /> two alternatives; outside ramp or inside ramp. Both alternatives save the buses <br /> significant time. The outside ramp seemed to be preferred by the public. <br /> Bridge detailing and fencing, bridge abutment and wayfinding, median barrier options <br /> and landscape designs were presented: <br /> Bridge Design Options: <br /> > faux bow truss with separate fence railing <br /> > double arch with faux truss <br /> > enhanced fence with no faux truss <br /> Bridge Abutment and Wayfinding Monument Options <br /> > tall, curved shape allowing a widened sidewalk <br /> > a smaller monument with sculptural feature <br /> > small monument with a curved wing wall to allow a view plaza <br /> Median Options: <br /> > wide median, with slightly raised barrier <br /> > 30 inch tall barrier with some color/texture enhancement <br /> > 48 inch tall barrier with similar enhancements <br /> Landscape Options along US 36: <br /> > modest sustainable landscaping <br /> > moderate concept with a balance of sustainability and refinement <br />
