The group is
willing to help with preserving this unique building. She asked for a show of hands of
citizens in favor of preserving the elevator and willing to help. Many hands in the
audience went up.
Ashley Stolzmann, 370 South Taft Court, Louisville, CO said the citizens group is talking
about forming a non-profit and encouraged Council to preserve the elevator with
whatever creative ideas would work.
Judy Cresswell, 1124 LaFarge Avenue, Louisville, CO spoke emotionally about the
preservation. She wanted to live in a town where she had a reminder of her youth in the
form of the grain elevator.
Gladys Pile, 2262 Ella Circle, Louisville, CO has lived here three years and appreciates
the way Louisville cares about their history. It is his belief the City has failed to represent the interest of Louisville
residents in cable and Internet matters, through its long-time collusion with the Greater
Metro Telecommunications Consortium (GMTC) and Comcast Cable Television. He
does not believe residents should be required to purchase a cable package to watch
programs on wireless devices. He passed out a letter he then read to Council
concerning privatization of GMTC and his belief it should remain a public entity.
He stated he would stand in witness to the long-time practice of Louisville City officials
protecting the interest of the cable company and not the interests of the citizens of
Louisville.
