Execute Independent Contractor Agreement by and between the City <br /> of Louisville and Loris & Associates, Inc. for the McCaslin Blvd. <br /> Underpass Professional Services <br /> E. Approve Cancellation of the July 24, 2012 City Council Study Session <br /> COUNCIL INFORMATIONAL COMMENTS ON PERTINENT ITEMS NOT ON THE <br /> AGENDA <br /> Mayor Muckle reported the fireworks had been cancelled due to the extremely dry <br /> conditions. The day's festivities have been turned into a fundraiser for Colorado fire <br /> victims and he encouraged residents to attend from 6-9 p.m. downtown. He addressed <br /> some comments in the newspaper concerning the Diverging Diamond Intersection <br /> bridge aesthetics and funding. He realizes from a functional standpoint the bridge <br /> doesn't need to be replaced immediately but stressed doing upgrades and increasing <br /> functionality during the US 36 Phase 2 reconstruction project could significantly reduce <br /> the cost. <br /> CITY MANAGER'S REPORT <br /> City Manager Fleming asked residents to conserve water. The combination of hot dry <br /> temperatures and lack of rain have caused usage to increase. In Stage 1 of the drought <br /> management plan, the conservation is voluntary with a goal of 10% less usage. The <br /> City is also doing their part and there may be some parks looking dry. The website will <br /> continue to inform residents of any updates. <br /> REGULAR BUSINESS <br /> AWARD BID FOR 2012 STREET RESURFACING PROJECT <br /> City Engineer Craig Duffin reported on the 2012 Street Resurfacing Project. He <br /> reported 5 bids had been received with Brannan Sand and Gravel submitting the lowest <br /> bid. <br />
