Louisville City Council Meeting
January 2, 2001
Page 11.

CITY ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT

City Administrator Bill Simmons reported that Mike Jones has accepted the position of
Chief Building Official. Jones had served as Acting Chief Building Official in the
interim and accepted the position in December.

Simmons reported that negotiations continue with Western Golf for the management of
the Coal Creek Golf Course. He noted that in the interim the City has assumed the
management of the golf course, until an agreement can be reached. Simmons stated that
includes the supervision of 13 temporary employees. Simmons reported that all the
licenses are still in effect and Staff has targeted the next Council meeting, January 16,
2001, for finalizing an agreement.

Simmons reminded Council of the Tuesday, January 9, 2001 Work Session. Three items
have been scheduled for discussion: the Intergovernmental Agreement with Boulder
Valley Humane Society, the Northwest Parkway Agreement and the Home Rule issue.

COUNCIL COMMENTS AND COMMITTEE REPORTS

Davidson stated that he signed the contract for new phone system on December 31, 2000.
He noted that Finance Director Dianne Ray discovered a significant error in the
consultant's analysis of the Recreation Center's phone needs and undersized the system.
The original recommendation of the consultant was $207,000. The new phone system
was acquired at under $200,000, with twice the capacity that was recommended by the
consultant. He stated there are a significant number of spares, should any equipment fail.

ADJOURNMENT

MQT!ONi. i._....-.-- Si.sk.moved that Council adjourn (8:10 p.m.)seconded by Brown.
