17.56.110 Liability. The degree of flood protection required by this chapter is considered reasonable for regulatory purposes and is based on scientific and engineering considerations. Larger floods can and will occur on rare occasions. Flood heights may be increased by man-made or natural causes. This chapter does not imply that land outside the areas of special flood hazard or uses permitted within such areas will be free from flooding or flood damages. This chapter shall not create liability on the part of or be a cause of action against the City of Louisville, any board, commission, officer, or employee thereof, or the Federal Emergency Management Agency for any flood damages that result from reliance on this chapter or any administrative decision lawfully made thereunder. 17.56.120 Flood regulatory district -- Application. The provisions for the flood regulatory district apply to all floodplains of watercourses in the city for areas on the official map established by section 17.56.070 and designated thereon as A zones. 17.56.130 Flood regulatory district -- Description. The flood regulatory district shall include the area delineated on the official maps established by section 17.56.070. 17.56.140 Reserved. 17.56.150 Flood regulatory district -- Permitted uses. A. The following open uses shall be permitted within the flood regulatory district to the extent that they are not prohibited in a particular area by the underlying zoning capacity and shall be exempt from the provisions of section 17.56.160 except as provided in subsection B. of this section and except that such uses shall be subject to subsection A. of section 17.56.160. 1 .
