<br />City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />November 15, 2005 <br />Page 4 of 9 <br /> <br />Mayor Pro Tem Brown reported on a Louisville Middle School project, which <br />entailed filming a commercial for Frontier Airlines. The commercial will showcase <br />Louisville and the middle school. He also reported on the passing of two <br />Louisville residents, Adell Ward Bischoff, who was a resident at Balfour <br />Retirement Home and Steven Cox, the Pastor of Christ the Servant Church. <br /> <br />Council member Sackett reported a local teacher was honored by the State of <br />Colorado as Teacher of the Year. He requested the Council recognize her <br />achievements. Mayor Sisk stated the Council will honor Teacher of the Year <br />recipient Adele Bravo at the December 6, 2005 City Council meeting. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk reported on the Senior Board meeting and announced they will <br />celebrate their Thanksgiving Luncheon Feast on Wednesday, November 16, <br />2005. Over 170 people are expected to attend. He also reported on a meeting <br />with the lobbyist for the US 36 on November 16, 2005. The Mayor and Assistant <br />City Manager for Governmental Relations Balser will attend the meeting. <br /> <br />REGULAR BUSINESS <br /> <br />ORDINANCE No. 1480, SERIES 2005 - AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE <br />VACATION OF A 5,028 SQUARE FOOT EASEMENT LOCATED IN THE <br />HEALTH PARK SUBDIVISION FILING No.6 SUBDIVISION IN THE CITY OF <br />LOUISVILLE - public hearing - 2nd reading (public hearing continued to <br />12/6/05) <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk requested that Mayor Pro Tem Brown preside over this agenda item. <br />He recused himself and disclosed his wife is a member of the Avista Hosptial <br />Board of Directors. Council member Sackett also recused himself and disclosed <br />his son is the CEO of Avista Hospital. Mayor Sisk and Council member Sackett <br />left the meeting room. <br /> <br />Mayor Pro Tem Brown requested a City Attorney introduction. <br /> <br />City Attorney Light read Ordinance No. 1480, Series 2005, and for the benefit of <br />the new Council members, outlined the process followed for first and seconding <br />readings of city ordinances. <br /> <br />Planning Director Wood explained the ordinance was not published, therefore <br />Staff is requesting Ordinance No. 1480, Series 2005 be continued to December <br />6,2005, to allow the required publication. <br /> <br />Mayor Pro Tem Brown opened the public hearing and indicated there would also <br />be an opportunity for the public to speak on December 6. No comments heard. <br />
