<br />City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />December 6, 2005 <br />Page 15 of 16 <br /> <br />Mayor Pro Tem Brown asked if Hamon Construction Company has filed a law <br />suit against the City. City Attorney Light reported a lawsuit has been filed, but <br />the City has not been served. He noted the City continues to try to schedule a <br />meeting with Hamon's attorney to discuss their claim. <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER'S REPORT <br /> <br />City Manager Simmons reported on scheduling a Council tour of City Facilities, <br />including the two Water Treatment Plants, Waste Water Treatment Plant, the <br />basement of the Police Department/Municipal Court Building, and City Shops. <br />This will be scheduled either Friday, January 6, or Friday, January 20. <br /> <br />He responded to a question as to whether Library Bond proceeds could be used <br />for the purchase of books. He explained the bond proceeds can only be used for <br />items that can be capitalized, which therefore precludes the purchase of books. <br /> <br />He reported the Finance Committee had discussions with the City's auditor; with <br />respect to the Council's expectation of the independent auditor. There was also <br />discussion relative to sales tax audits. As a result of those audits, the City has <br />received $420,000 in sales tax revenue. He suggested the Finance Committee <br />discuss how the revenue should be spent at a future meeting. <br /> <br />COUNCIL COMMENTS AND COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> <br />Mayor Pro Tem Brown addressed DRCOG's Metro Vision Plan, and the City of <br />Louisville's Urban Growth Boundary. He requested Council authorization to <br />respond to the DRCOG with the City of Louisville's concerns. He stated he <br />would attend the Consortium of Cities meeting on Wednesday, December 7, and <br />represent the Council's consensus on the Boulder/Broomfield Transit Plan. <br /> <br />Mayor Pro Tem Brown also reported on the Business Retention meeting and the <br />Web Page consultant's presentation. He explained the City of Boise has youth <br />involvement in all their Boards and Commission. He requested more youth <br />involvement in all of the City's Boards, Commissions and Committees. <br /> <br />Council member Marsella explained the Youth Advisory Board would like to have <br />input on what new businesses come to Louisville, and have requested that <br />members of the Business Retention Committee attend a Youth Advisory Board <br />meeting. She also reported there will be a Teen Craft and Bake Sale on <br />December 17, from 4 - 7 p.m. The Youth Advisory Board will be selling baked <br />goods and crafts to earn money to donate to a worthy cause. <br /> <br />Council member Muckle reported on the progress of the Cable Television <br />negotiations. <br />
