<br />City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />December 20, 2005 <br />Page 7 of 8 <br /> <br />CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT <br /> <br />City Attorney Light reported the City Council will be receiving memos from his <br />office in the next few days. <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER'S REPORT <br /> <br />Deputy City Manager Boyd reported on the following Capital Projects: <br /> <br />· Skate Park Construction <br />· Monarch HS Tennis Court Resurfacing & Lights <br />· Community Park Construction <br />· Davidson Mesa Open Space & Walnut Street Park Trails <br />· Memory Square Playground replacement <br /> <br />Mayor Pro Tem Brown praised the Community Park facilities. Council member <br />Muckle commended Staff on the trails projects. <br /> <br />City Manager Simmons reported on the following: <br /> <br />· A meeting with Hamon Construction relative to claims against the City for <br />the Highway 42/96th Street Connection. <br />· The Finance Committee discussed how the one-time $120,000 sales tax <br />proceeds would be spent. The funds are the result of the Sales Tax audit. <br />The Committee supports acquisition of additional library materials. <br />· The City has been accepted in the Worker's Compensation Premier <br />Program, which will result in a 7% additional reduction in premiums. <br />· The McCaslin Interchange Committee is scheduled to meet the week of <br />January 16. Staff will send emails to the Interchange Committee. <br />· The Legislative Breakfast is scheduled for January 5,2006, at 7:30 a.m. <br /> <br />COUNCIL COMMENTS AND COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> <br />Council member Muckle inquired as to how the City Council could receive details <br />about pending legislation. City Manager Simmons stated such items could be <br />scheduled for Council review at a Study Session, or a regular City Council <br />meeting under discussion items. The Council's consensus could be forwarded to <br />the Colorado Municipal League. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk explained Assistant City Manager for Governmental Relations has <br />contacts with DRCOG and CML. He noted the City has a good relationship with <br />Boulder County, City of Boulder, City and County of Denver, and is well informed <br />on pending legislation. <br />
