Louisville City Council Meeting
February 20, 2001
Page 2

D. Award Bid - Dillon Road Water Line Materials

PUBLIC COMMENTS ON ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA

Doug Grinbergs, 530 W. Sycamore Circle, Louisville, CO, stated that he spoke at the last
Council meeting about the Louisville Fishing Pond 'and asked the City to stop the
construction until public meetings could be held. He stated that he had attended the
Louisville Open Space Advisory Board Meeting and the Fishing Pond issue was
discussed for two hours. He asked that the project be stopped until the Open Space
Advisory Board can forward a recommendation to Council.

Grinbergs stated that the City should initiate other ways to communicate with the public.
He suggested that City Boards and Commission, such as the Open Space Advisory Board
should have their own email addresses. He also noted that he, like his neighbor does not
receive public notice through the water utility billing because of auto debit payment,
therefore, he does not open his bills. He also stated that he does not have cable television
and cannot receive notices posted on the government channel or watch Council meetings.
He stated that he accesses information over the web. Grinbergs also voiced concern over
the aviation noise issue and asked that the City be more pro-active.

COUNCIL INFORMATIONAL COMMENTS ON PERTINENT ITEMS NOT ON
THE AGENDA

Mayer commented that Mr. Grinberg's group email suggestion was good and would be
useful to the citizens. He stated that the issue of aviation noise was discussed at the Ward
meeting and several suggestions were forwarded to Staff. He felt that it would be useful
to ascertain what progress has been made on the issue.

Brown stated that he attended the Valentine's Day Senior's heating bill fundraiser. He
commended Joan Riggins, the Blue Parrot and the Senior Board for the their dedication.
He stated that the event was well attended and the proceeds were donated for a worthy
cause.

Sisk reminded the Mayor, Council and those in attendance that there will be a prevention
presentation on substance at Monarch High School on Wednesday, February 21, 2001, at
7:00 p.m. The Council, Louisville Police Department and the Boulder Valley School
District will sponsor the seminar.

Sisk reported that he attended the Senior Board meeting and they have stated they wish to
continue to be involved in the planning process for the senior center expansion.

2
