<br />The 1910 census shows that the Henry and Josephine Guenzi family <br />general area at that time in a house that they owned. <br /> <br /> <br />2000 Inventory Record for 1036 Walnut <br /> <br />In 2000, this property was surveyed as one of a group of histori <br /> <br />(More information has been found with respect to 1036 Walnut sin <br />example, the 2000 survey stated that the house was associated wi <br />1930s. It is now known that it was associated with the Guenzi fa <br />1908 (and the property since 1907). In addition, the 2000 survey <br />information about other people in Louisville with the last name <br />this particular house. Last, the 2000 survey specifically 1910 <br />. The house is now <br />believed to have been constructed in 1908.) <br /> <br />The 2000 survey also included the following statements <br />statement of significance: <br /> <br />General Architectural Description: The Guenzi House is located at the southwest corner of <br />Walnut Street and Lee Avenue, in the eastern part of Louisville. <br />the property also consists of two garages, both located east of <br />single-story wood-frame dwelling <br />exterior walls have been cladded with horizontal aluminum siding <br />intersecting hip and gable, grey asphalt shingles and boxed eave <br />located on the interior of the west elevation. Windows on the ho <br />double-hung sash, with painted white wood frames and surrounds, <br />storm windows. Two painted white wood-paneled doors, with alumin <br />open onto concrete sidewalks on the h <br /> <br />Statement of Significance: The Guenzi House property is historically significant, relative <br />National Register Criterion A, for its associations with residen <br />eastern Louisville neighborhood in the <br />integrity, though, is probably not to the extent that would qual <br />the National Register of Historic Places. <br /> <br />Assessment of historic physical integrity related to significanc <br />integrity has been compromised slightly by the application of vi <br />exterior wall materials. There have been no additions to the hou <br />years. The construction of a new garage, circa 1980, has diminis <br />to some extent. <br /> <br />The inventory record on 1036 Walnut from 2000 states the followi <br />(and elsewhere estimates that the two-car garage dates to the 19 <br />garage dates from the 1920s or 1930s): <br /> <br />
