mission and guiding principles recap
Advocacy
— The LRC should be advocates for projects and ideas associated with urban revitalization
activities that hold promise in assisting the city in eliminating and preventing slums and
blighted areas through urban renewal. Advocated projects and ideas would be initiatives
that create value for the urban revitalization district, and thus value for the City of
Louisville.
Analysis
— The LRC needs to possess a thorough understanding of current and forecasted TIF revenue
streams, as well as the varying TIF revenue opportunities that could be generated from
different projects and ideas. This knowledge would create informed advocacy. The LRC
would help facilitate this knowledge by work with varying resources to create financial
models based on ideas and insights funneled through the LRC.
Action
— The LRC needs to provide analysis and advocacy to City Council. This could be focused on
catalyst projects as well as recommendations for improvements and development. Action
could also be through assistance in projects and ideas that become recommended by the
LRC — thus identifying specific improvements/actions that would be vetted to their potential
to achieve the desired outcomes of the urban revitalization district.
