Youth Advisory Board
Meeting Minutes
9/20/12
vi. Katie- likes all the parks. Don’t need a big mall, but some bigger
stores would be a nice addition
vii. Eliza- likes the way Louisville government keeps looking towards
the future for ways to improve. Would like to see some larger scale
stores.
viii. Brooke- likes the small town vibe, yet it is becoming a “hot spot” for
shopping/dining and that is good because it keeps the shopping
money in Louisville
ix. Isabella- downtown is very popular
x. Caelis- likes the open spaces, but thinks it might be better if they
could be made to feel more “wild” and less like you are in the
middle of a city
xi. Zane- likes how safe it is. Doesn’t seem like we need a lot of police
officers on patrol.
xii. Mitchell- ironically, he agrees with his brother (twins) that we need
to keep being a town where people can relax and not always be so
stressed out. To help, we can improve the space for parks.
xiii. Kaylix- loves Louisville because it is small and safe. If you want to
live in a more industrial place, you could move to new York City.
Thinks the city could improve on the outdoor pool situations and
offer more options.
xiv. Karen- Likes Louisville for the open spaces and trials. Feels like
she is unsafe riding her bike to school sometimes, and thinks that
drivers and bike riders could be more educated about safety issues.
IX. Team Building Exercise
X. What is the YAB- What can you expect in the upcoming year
Mandy discussed volunteer events, going to other board/commission
meetings, monthly meetings, and/or an annual project of your choosing
XI. Expectations of Board Members and Professional Conduct
Kriska discussed professional conduct, keeping a positive attitude,
representing the city government, good attendance and follow through on
commitments
XII.
