Louisville City Council Meeting <br />March 20, 2001 <br />Page 18 <br /> <br />Brown noted that there was discussion relative to increasing the open space fund and <br />suggested allocating funds to mitigate the impact to the open space. <br /> <br />Howard stated that the cost of not constructing the Highway would result in traffic <br />volumes similar to that of South Boulder Road on Front Street. Howard agreed with <br />Councilman Brown's comments and stated that he would support a way to use open <br />space funds to mitigate the impact/damage to the open space. He voiced his concern over <br />the congestion of the existing roadways and stated that the project must go forward. <br /> <br />Brown reported that he had conversations with the Downtown Business Association, who <br />are interested in this project. They have issues of concern with the future of County Road <br />as it will impact downtown Louisville. <br /> <br />Sisk agreed that the road is greatly needed. He stressed that $12 million dollars is a lot of <br />money nevertheless; he did not believe 12 million dollars would cover the costs to <br />construct the road. He expressed his thanks to the Open Space Advisory Board for their <br />comments, however stated that the Council must make a decision and move forward with <br />Alternative B. <br /> <br />MOTION: Mayer moved that Council accept the 96th Street Connection Alternative <br />Analysis Report and approve Alternative B with Alternative A as backup, and <br />authorization for Staff to undertake necessary action to implement the alternative, <br />seconded by Brown. Roll call for was taken. The motion passed by a vote of 6-0. <br /> <br />PURSUANT TO SECTION 2.92.010 OF THE LOUISVILLE MUNICIPAL CODE, <br />NOTICE MUST BE GIVEN THAT AT ITS APRIL 3, 2001, REGULAR <br />MEETING, THE LOUISVILLE CITY COUNCIL WILL MAKE A FINAL <br />DETERMINATION AS TO THE PURCHASE OF FEE TITLE TO A CERTAIN <br />PARCEL OF LAND TOTALING 15.198 ACRES, MORE OR LESS AND <br />LOCATED AT THE SOUTHEAST CORNER OF THE INTERSECTION OF <br />MCCASLIN BOULEVARD AND VIA APPIA, FOR POTENTIAL USE FOR <br />PUBLIC BUILDINGS AND FACILITIES AND OTHER GOVERNMENTAL <br />PURPOSES <br /> <br />Sisk called for City Attorney introduction. <br /> <br />City Attorney Light read section 2.92.010 of the Louisville Municipal Code, which states <br />that notice must be given that at its April 3, 2001 regular meeting, the City Council will <br />make a final determination as to the purchase of fee title to a certain parcel of land <br />totaling 15.198 acres. The parcel is located at the southeast corner of the intersection of <br />McCaslin Boulevard and Via Appia, for potential use for public building and facilities <br />and other governmental purposes. <br /> <br />18 <br /> <br /> <br />
