Open Space Advisory Board
Agenda
9/12/12
the face book page. If you are interested in volunteering please contact Ember.
All volunteers are encouraged to wear a costume.
X. Discussion Item: Schedule Property Tours
There was interest in holding the tours in April after day light savings time and
prior to ranking exercise. This would allow ample time to rank the properties and
prepare recommendations to City Council and Boulder County Parks & Open
Space. Justin recommended a tour in the fall/winter to better understand
materials presented in the Comprehensive Plan which will be finalized in the
winter. The Planning Department will present an update of the Comprehensive
Plan at the October meeting.
XI. Discussion Item: Brainstorm Operational & Capital Improvement Projects
OSAB voted and approved the motion to request that the Staff include a Way-
Finding project in the capital fund request going to the City Manager. This project
would include developing options to make the trail system easier to navigate.
This could include signs, kiosks, maps, labeling underpasses etc. This project
could also include stewardship and education elements.
Following on Justin’s suggestion, Tom proposed creating a matrix for ranking
Capital Improvement Projects for five year planning exercise for future CIP
planning. Matrix categories could include: Education, Wayfinding, Maintenance
life cycles, Connectivity, add a reference column for the Master Plan action
items. Tom and Ember will meet to create a draft table for the October meeting.
Ember will have update on final City Manager Capital Projects recommendations.
th
XII.
