Historic Preservation Commission <br />Meeting Minutes <br />September 17, 2012 <br />Page 8 of 9 <br />La Grave asked to be excused for the remainder of the meeting. Before he left he <br />mentioned about the Outreach budget for 2013 and what his thoughts were for the use <br />of the $7,500 requested budget. <br />Robinson explained where staff was with the budget process and when it could be <br />expected to be approved. <br />Discussion – Grain Elevator Update <br />Robinson presented the packet material and gave an update of where the City was in <br />the process of purchasing on the Grain Elevator. He stated the City does have a <br />contract on the property and closingis scheduled for sometime in November. <br />Update on Demolition Requests – 612 Lincoln <br />Robinson stated there is still a stay on this permit and Commissioner Lewis is providing <br />design assistance. <br />Lewis stated she does not have any updates but she will check back with the owners. <br />The last discussions she had was to try and preserve some portions of the structure, <br />primarily the street facing portion. <br />Discussion/Comments on Planning Department Referrals – None <br />Updates – <br />Reconnaissance Survey RFP/Austin-Niehoff HSA <br />Reconnaissance Survey <br />Robinson stated staff has shortlisted qualified candidates and will be interviewing them <br />soon <br />Austin Niehoff <br />Robinson stated staff had a kickoff meeting with the consultant and the state. The next <br />step is to start the project. <br />Plaque Design <br />Robinson passed around the fabricated plaque for HPC to review. <br />Stewart asked if Council needed to approve it. <br />Robinson said no. <br />Stewart asked how the numbers on the plaque will work. <br />Robinson stated it was based on when they were landmarked. <br />Items from Staff – <br />
