LouisvilleSustainabilityAdvisory Board
Meeting Minutes
Sep19, 2012
Page 2of 3
-Adding an Urban Neighborhood in the area behind Walgreens adjacent to the Davidon
Mesa open space.
These options are described in detail on the presentation posted on the City of Louisville web site:
http://www.louisvilleco.gov/Portals/0/Planning/Comp%20Plan/2012charrettedocument.pdf
The LSAB members discussed the options and provided input to Gavin regarding their preferences
for these alternatives.
Gavin also requested that the LSAB provide him with input regarding the areas of the Comp Plan that
had been previously discussed in LSAB meetings. There was a discussion of the Comp Plan areas
that had been reviewed in prior LSAB meetings, and it was agreed that LSAB will provide input on the
following sections of the plan: Energy, Water/Sewer, Parks/Open Space, Transportation, and
Community Form/Character/Urban Design.
VII. Urban Gardens Update:
Mary Ann reported that she is making progress collecting signatures,
and that she had someone volunteer to help set up a web site to coordinate the program.Mark stated
that he thought city staff would prefer locations with an existing water supply. Andy noted that the
topic of Urban Gardens had come up repeatedly during the Comp Plan Charette.
VIII.Energy Grants:
Andy felt that while the identified programs might provide opportunities for
grant money to help with sustainability efforts, there is no specific program/project that is ripe for
submitting an application to these programs today, so we should keep tabs on the programs and look
for a timely opportunity. Some possible uses of grant money include supporting the community
gardens initiative or paying for staff time to work on green building codes.
th
:
IX.Items for Next meeting )Members should come prepared with drafts of the comp
(Sept 19
plan sections.(Energy(Andy), Water/Sewer(Mary Ann), Transportation(Cullen suggested but not
present), Community Form/Urban Design(Andy with input from Mary Ann on Urban Gardens), and
Parks/Open Space/Trails(unassigned).Also discuss items raised by City Council for LSAB input,
including Backyard Chickens and Urban Agriculture White Paper.
X. Adjourn:
The meeting adjourned at 8:10pm.
2012 Schedule, Deadlines, and Assignments
(Next meeting –November21, 2012)
PLEASE NOTE DUE DATES FOR DOCUMENTS TO KERRY!
Circulate Draft Final Agenda and MeetingChairSecretary
Agenda to BoardPrevious Minutes
due to Kerry Holle
January 5January 10January 18Mary AnnAndy
February 2February 7February 15AndyMark
March 8March 13March 21MarkTed
April 5April 10April 18TedAnnie
Cullen
Annie
May 3May 8May 16Annie
*Cullen
*Mark
Cullen
June 7June 12 June 20Mary Ann
*Mark
