City of Louisville <br />Open Space A *lsory r oir 7 <br />Msegiu g Minutes <br />es <br />July 12, 2006 <br />Louisville City Council Chambers <br />7:00 PM <br />Can to Order — Vice Chairperson David Waldman called the meeting to order at <br />7:00 pm. <br />Roll Capp was taken and the following members were present: <br />Board Members Present: Ted Kowalski, David Waldman, Tom Davinroy, <br />Bret Harper, and Kate LeMere <br />Board Members Absent: Michael Gheleta, John Carron <br />Staff Members Present: Jeff Moline and Scott Robson <br />Approval of Agenda — The Board approved the agenda, with the moving up of <br />the Cottonwood issues due to the large public interest in this item. <br />Approval of Meeting Minutes — OSAB approved the April meeting minutes, with <br />changes to the spelling of Kate's last name and Bret's first name. <br />Public Comments on topics not on the agenda — Spencer Guthrie, who lives <br />on Azure Way, had some questions about the fencing on the Davidson Mesa <br />open space property. Jeff described the fencing project as a way to control <br />prairie dogs from leaving the open space property. Jeff agreed to work with the <br />land owner to arrange to have a gate put into the fencing if desired by the private <br />land owner. <br />Cottonwood Corridor Proposed Development — Jeff Moline explained the <br />history regarding this property and introduced the topic. Scott Robson indicated <br />that there has not been a proposal submitted for review by the Staff or the Open <br />Space Board. Then the public addressed the Board. It should be noted that over <br />fifty members of the public attended the meeting. <br />Annie Hughes had a prepared presentation on the importance of the Cottonwood <br />Corridor. It is a noise and pollution buffer for residents, it supports wildlife <br />habitat. It provides connectivity within the City. The corridor is a natural adjunct <br />to Cottonwood Park.
