•
•
•
Louisville Open Space Citizens Advisory Board Meeting
7:00 p.m.
Monday September 27, 2004
Louisville Recreation Center, Senior Citizen Lounge
Louisville, CO 80027
Attendance: Patrick Hornbostel, Heidi Ochis, Wayne Varra, Robert Muckle, Cary
Tengler, Gary Mansdorfer, John Carron and Michael Gheleta
Also in attendance: Jeff Moline, City of Louisville Staff
Bob Muckle called the meeting to order at 7:20 p.m.
August minutes passed with 2 changes.
Motions Passed
A motion was made to pass the Open Space Rules and Regulations on to the City
Attorney and City Manager for the next round of edits. Board was all in favor.
Updates from the Board
Bob Muckle read a letter drafted by Boulder County's Parks and Open Space Advisory
Committee in support of the Boulder County open space tax that will be on the
November ballot. All Board members agree that LOSCAB should be on record as
supporting the ballot issue, by signing the letter.
Bob Muckle suggested that a Louisville citizen (not employed by the City) should store
the leftover "owl — open space yes" signs since they were purchased with private funds.
Pat Hornbostel agreed to take them.
Gary Mansdorfer noted that a roadblock should be constructed where the dirt road leaves
the Omeda property and heads onto the Davidson Mesa. He has seen cars driving up
there at night on the access road along the ditch.
Updates from Staff
Jeff Moline gave an update on the following City projects:
The Callahan Trail construction is out to bid and is scheduled to be complete in
December.
The kiosk on Davidson Mesa is being worked on and should go out to bid within a
week or two.
Trail beautification projects include;
Davidson Mesa near Dyer Road;
The "social road" to access the Coal Creek trail will be removed and reseeded;
Work on the Davidson Mesa near the prairie dogs;
