Horticultural & Forestry Advisory Board <br />Minutes <br />November 3, 2005 <br />Page 4 of 5 <br />progress on projects, Fred Banta suggested that the problem should be made <br />known to the City Council and to seek resolution. <br />X. McCaslin /Hwy. 36 interchange <br />Progress is being made on the construction of the improvement. Discussion was <br />held about the landscape design and it was noted that HFAB never looked 'at <br />plan. It was remarked that the Department of Land Management would look at <br />planting on Louisville side of the project. • <br />By consensus the Board requested that Chris,Lichty obtain ,a copy of ' 1, <br />current landscape design for the RTD land and the Louisville side •of they <br />interchange and provide it to the Board at the December meeting.'' <br />XI. Gateway Signage, Landscaping and Management - <br />Caryl Shields presented concerns regarding the landscape in the area for the <br />proposed signage and the need for the area to be improved. By consensus the <br />Board recommend that Caryl contact Kathy Kron to present her concerns <br />and report back to the Board at the December meeting. <br />XII. Horticultural and Forestry Advisory Board Award • <br />The idea was discussed about developing an award program to be sponsored by <br />the Board to recognize efforts made by citizens and groups in Louisville that <br />promote and achieve the horticultural and arboreal objectives of the City. Susan <br />Spaulding volunteered to take the lead on generating ideas for an award <br />and to report back to the Board in December. . <br />XIII. Adjourn <br />At the conclusion of the meeting the minutes were reviewed and a summary <br />produced that identifies the assignments for individual Board members and the- <br />topics each is addressing. This is presented below: <br />• Dave Russell, researching funding opportunities. Presentation to <br />the Board in December. <br />• Theresa Rounds, CTC grant application. Presentation to the Board <br />in December. <br />• Matt Tepe, CTC grant application. Working with Theresa. <br />• Susan Spaulding, idea for the HFAB award, preparing remarks for <br />presentation to the City Council. To present progress at the <br />December meeting. <br />• Caryl Shields, idea of the award, Gateway signage. Working with <br />Susan on the award. To look into the gateway park and signage <br />issue (with Chris Lichty). and report to Board in December. <br />• Fred Banta, Minutes. <br />
