Horticultural It Forestry Advisory Board <br />Minutes <br />September 1, 2005 <br />Page 3 of 4 <br />• It was also reported that Theresa is creating an index of plants that are present in the <br />xeric demonstration garden. This information will be used to label the plants and <br />develop a cross reference of the plants scientific and common names to be presented <br />on a kiosk.' <br />VIII. Forestry Ordinance <br />The Forestry Ordinance has been placed on the City Council work session agenda for <br />September 27. <br />IX. Open Government Charter Amendment <br />No updates. <br />X. McCaslin /Hwy. 36 Interchange <br />No Update <br />XI. Louisville's Comprehensive Plan <br />The Louisville Comprehensive Plan was approved, and it was noted that the <br />recommendations provided by Chris Hansen were included in the Comprehensive Plan. <br />XII. Gateway Signage and Landscaping <br />• Discussed memo from Land Management dated August 24, 2005. Chris emphasized <br />that the area needs some attention /management. Design ideas are still being reviewed <br />by Cathy Kron, including the signs. <br />• <br />XIII. Handling of Secretary Duties <br />Fred Banta and Ellen Toon will share the responsibilities until further notice. <br />XIV. Concerns. of Laura Page on Main Street Landscaping <br />General discussion was held regarding the public works decision to not plant trees on <br />the reconstructed sidewalk area on south Main Street near the new Community Park. It <br />was reported that Laura Page had expressed concerns about excessive sidewalk width <br />and no trees on these blocks. Was invited to discuss the concerns. Laura Page did not <br />attend the HFAB session. <br />XV. Discussion Items for Next Meeting <br />• Community Park <br />• Arboretum Planning <br />i.
