Horticultural & Forestry Advisory Board
Minutes
November 3, 2005
IV. Approval of Minutes
The minutes from the regular meeting held on October 6, 2005 were approved as
written. Motion to Accept: E. Toon. Second: M. Tepe
•
V. Public Comments on Items Not on the Agenda
No public comments
VI. Community Park
Theresa. Rounds presented her observations about the progress at the park.
She commented that the sprinkler system is being "tweaked "; that efforts are
being made to control foot traffic across the turf and planting areas; that the City
is working on the perennial plan; and the playground is almost finished. Theresa
commented that the park reflects a community effort with a diverse offering of
activities, and a diversity of tress and plants.
Theresa suggested that the Board should go on a tour of the Park (Board tour).
It was recommended that Chris Lichty should arrange for the tour and
present possible dates and times at the December meeting.
VII. Arboretum Planning —
(1) Results of the City Council Study Session
No discussion on this matter.
(2) City Council Meeting
A discussion was held about presenting the HFAB initiatives,
goals and objectives to the City Council. The Board
concurred that Susan Spaulding would represent the Board
and prepare a presentation with assistance from Board
members, Chris Lichty and Dave Clabots. She can use the
material prepared over the last year for her presentation.
It was decided by consensus to request Chris to inquire
as to when the first opportunity would be for the Board
to make the presentation at the City Council meeting,
preferably before the end of the year. Chris is to report
back at or before the December HFAB meeting as to a
date for the presentation..
(3) Pergola
• No discussion about the Pergola
