• LOUISVILLE HORTICULTURE FORESTRY ADVISORY BOARD MINUTES OF BOARD MEETING , October 4, 2001 Members Present: Betty Solek, Susan Ariniello, David Russell, Michael Frontczak, Judith Turner, Susan Spaulding Members Absent: Nanette Edwards City Liaisons Present: Dave Sexton Guest Present: Caryl Shields A. General 1. The meeting was called to order and September minutes were approved. 2. Meeting and agenda information will be posted on the city web page in the future, the website is www.ci.louisville.co.us. 3. As a result of touring the open space areas the parcels this board feels should possibly be designated other are : Via Appia hillside, Ponderosa Subdivision entry, the rural entries on Dillion and Hgwy 42, Callaghan- trail corridor, all power line corridors, Lake Park, Cherrywood, Fishing is Fun pond -N. Warenbourg property, the 3 acre parcel by Hecla Lake and Aquarius. The board will consider these areas this month and do a vote on each parcel at the November meeting and at that time compile a list of parcels it would hope to have a designation of other. The classifications the Open Space will use are preserve, protected, visitor and other. The other label would allow for greater flexibility in landscaping and allow the city to work toward the master beautification plan. Some areas would not need the other designation over the entire parcel in order for the city to implement the mater plan. Dave will attend the next Open Space Board meeting and will ask if designations on one parcel can be mixed. 4. Dave revised the list of goals and they were reviewed. 5. The proposed plant list should be brought to the next meeting and additions made if needed. 6. Meeting adjourned at 7:10 p.m. 7. The next meeting will be on Thursday, November 1, 2001 at the Rec. Center.
