<br />Revitalization Commission <br />Minutes <br />DATE <br />Page 2 of 3 <br /> <br />Business Matters of Commission <br />1. Ann Ricker, Discussion of Urban Renewal Plan, Timeline and Work <br />Detail/Public Meetings -- Ann Ricker with Leland Consulting Group <br />presented a revised scope of work, draft timeline and budget to proceed <br />with the Urban Renewal Plan. She noted a budget increase of $4,000 to <br />accommodate additional financial feasibility analysis for the area. It was <br />discussed that the EPA Brownfields Grant funds should be available to <br />cover the additional cost. The Commission unanimously approved the <br />revised scope of work, proposed timeline and the budget. The <br />Commission also briefly discussed current legislation in the General <br />Assembly pertaining to urban renewal and eminent domain. Staff also <br />gave an update on current discussions initiated by the County with the <br />City to share a percentage of TIF proceeds within an urban renewal <br />area. Lastly, the Commission suggested a joint meeting with the City <br />Council and Planning Commission to discuss the activities of the LRC <br />along with a refresher on urban renewal and its powers and provisions. <br />The regular scheduled May 11 meeting date of the LRC was suggested <br />to meet with the City Council and Planning Commission. <br />2. Light, Harrington and Dawes Fee Increase Request - Attorney for the <br />Commission, Sam Light, provided a memo for the Commission regarding <br />a desired fee increase for legal services. The proposed increases are <br />consistent with recent increases approved by City Council for City <br />Attorney services. The Commission unanimously approved a revised <br />fee schedule effective April 1 based on the proposed rate changes. <br />3. Next Meeting Items - 1) Ann Ricker, Leland Consulting Group - Update <br />on the Urban Renewal Plan 2) Draft Agenda for the May LRC Joint <br />Meeting with City Council and Planning Commission 3) Next Meeting <br />Items; and 4) Next Meeting Date <br />4. Next Meeting Date - The next regularly scheduled meeting is to be held <br />on April 13, 2006. <br /> <br />Commissioners' Comments <br />Nothing to report. <br /> <br />Adjourn - The meeting was adjourned at 8:45 AM. <br />
