City Council
Study Session Summary
May 24, 2005
Councilmember Van Pelt suggested a criterion that any organization requesting a
donation has a Louisville affiliation.

City Manager Items
Capitol Improvement Projects Update - Mayor Sisk explained that at the last
regular City Council meeting, Council asked for updates on the following capitol
improvement projects:

. Skateboard Park - Negotiations are continuing with the contractor for
repairs to the bowls in the park. Cindy Lair explained that the work was
completed by a subcontractor; therefore, the contractor and subcontractor
are discussing responsibility for the repairs. Lights are scheduled for
installation in June.
. Davidson Mesa Trails - Bill Simmons distributed copies of a flyer the Land
Management Department prepared to advertise National Trails Day and
ask for volunteers to assist with trail maintenance on Davidson Mesa on
June 18, 2005. The status of various trail connections was discussed.
. Multipurpose Field Study - Cindy Lair explained three sites were identified
in the multipurpose field study: Monarch High School, the detention pond
at the Louisville Recreation Center, and the field at Louisville Middle
School. The Monarch field presented several scheduling problems. Bill
Simmons suggested expanding the study to evaluate privately owned land
once the comprehensive plan is complete. Councilmember Keany
suggested pursuing a joint-use agreement with Lafayette for a
multipurpose field on the Harney Lastoka property.

Bill Simmons reported that the Planning Commission is scheduled to complete
review of the Comprehensive Plan at their June 9, 2005 meeting.

Xcel Energy has contacted the City and has agreed to a two-year extension to
the Franchise Agreement.

Councilmember Marsella reported that the Library Foundation would like to meet
with Council to discuss meeting with the Superior Town Board regarding an
agreement for the Town of Superior to contribute to operating costs for the
Louisville Public Library. Residents from the Town of Superior currently represent
twenty-two percent of the transactions at the Louisville Public Library. Council
suggested discussing this at a Study Session in September.

Copies of the advance agenda and meeting calendar were distributed.

Adjournment
The meeting was adjourned at 9: 20 p.m.

Submitted by Belinda Goebel
