She presented Council with written information
explaining the program and informed Council that the program is very active in all the
schools throughout Boulder County. She noted that the program is funded by Boulder
County, Boulder Valley School District, St. Vrain Valley School District, Eco-Cycle and
various grant sources. She stated that the program provides for collection and recycling of
all materials from every school in the County and environmental education is available
for Kindergarten through 12th grade classes. She noted that it is the largest school
recycling program in the nation and has received two major awards, Outstanding School
Program Award from the National Recycling Coalition in 1996 and Outstanding Local
Program Award from the North American Association of Environmental Education in
1998. She wanted to inform Council of the merits of the program.

Sisk thanked Ms. Dietz for appearing and stated that the City's Resource Conservation
Board would be pleased to meet with her.
