City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />November 5, 2012 <br />Page 2 of 15 <br />APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br />Mayor Muckle called for changes to the agenda and hearing none, moved to approve <br />the agenda, seconded by Council member Jasiak. All were in favor. Absent: Council <br />member Sackett. <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS ON ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA <br />Deborah Fahey, 1118 W. Enclave Circle, Louisville, CO updated the City Council on the <br />activities of the Senior Advisory Board and at the Louisville Senior Center. The <br />Platinum Member Program offers special events, day trips, resources and classes. She <br />distributed flash drives to the Council, which contained all the PowerPoint Presentations <br />and the lectures from the Create Our Future Together Conference Sessions. <br />Alan Sobel, 1408 Kennedy, Louisville, CO commented on an article in the morning <br />edition of The Daily Camera about local characters. The article stated many cities and <br />towns have local characters, often called muckrakers, gadflies and government <br />watchdogs. He stated if the City had a local watchdog newspaper the story would not <br />be about local characters, but about his perception of how Louisville City officials <br />represent the interests of the local Cable and Internet Company and not the interests of <br />Louisville residents. The story would have detailed the practices of the local officials <br />and not about local characters. He noted the article would also have appeared about <br />two and half years ago, when he began his filibuster <br />Mayor Muckle stated public participation is a critical element of the democratic process. <br />Doug Grinbergs, 530 Sycamore Circle, Louisville, CO addressed technology <br />implementation and infrastructure in Louisville. He noted other cities include their <br />technology plans in the Comprehensive plan. He felt the City needs a robust voice data <br />and infrastructure and to ensure Comcast and other providers bring it to Louisville. He <br />supported forming a Citizens Technology Committee. He noted open government does <br />not address ADA compatibility for Web Sites for the visually impaired. He stated the City <br />is interested in collaborating with Boulder County on technology infrastructure, however <br />when he accessed the Boulder County site to watch a hearing, he was required to <br />download and install software. He stated technology should be available for all users, <br />including the implementation of new technology such as GPS Coordinates. <br />Cate Daniels, 553 Indian Peaks Trail W, Lafayette, CO, a Monarch High School student <br />stressed the importance of more bike path connections throughout the City of Louisville <br />to enable students to bike to school and people to bike to work. She stated biking and <br />walking provides healthy and safe alternatives to driving. <br />Charles Sisk, 671 W. Ash, Louisville, CO congratulated Council member Jasiak on <br />being elected to represent Ward I. He explained the University of Colorado and the <br />Colorado Athletic Association met with the Louisville Parks and Recreation Division and <br />14 <br />
