Louisville City Council Meeting <br />July 3, 2001 <br />Page 16 <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT <br /> <br />CITY ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT <br /> <br />Simmons reminded Council of the July 10, 2001 work session on the 2001-2001 goals. <br />He asked the City Clerk to update Council on the Referendum petition on the Fischer <br />zoning. <br /> <br />City Clerk Varra reported that she received a Referendum Petition with respect to the <br />zoning of the Fischer property. She stated that she received the petition at 4:45 p.m., and <br />the proponents alleged that they contained 665 signatures. She reported that she briefly <br />reviewed the 34 petitions and counted 664 signatures. She announced that she would <br />begin the process of verifying each signature to ensure that it is the signature of a <br />registered voter. Varra stated that after verification she would make a statement of <br />sufficiency or insufficiency. <br /> <br />City Administrator Simmons asked how long the City Clerk has to verify the petitions. <br />Varra stated she has thirty days to verify the petitions. <br /> <br />COUNCIL COMMENTS AND COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> <br />Mayer reported that the Recycling Authority opened the new, fully operational recycling <br />facility, on Monday, July 2, 2001. <br /> <br />Sisk reported that the Boulder County Commissioners honored Joan Colacci Riggins for <br />her benevolent contributions in sponsoring a Spaghetti dinner benefiting Louisville <br />citizens. The proceeds from the dinner helped defray the cost of heating bills for needy <br />senior citizens. He asked that the City send a letter to Joan congratulating and <br />commending her contributions. <br /> <br />Davidson reported that the State Legislature Committee is in the process of redistricting <br />the State House. He stated that them is a proposal to put Louisville, Lafayette, Erie and <br />Unincorporated Boulder County into a separate district. He voiced his belief that this <br />district would have common interests. He asked for Council authorization to write a <br />letter to the Committee stating that the City of Louisville supports the proposed redistrict. <br /> <br />Mayer requested more information about the proposed redistricting. <br /> <br />16 <br /> <br /> <br />
