Speculative, Multi-Tenant Light <br />Industrial Building, Lot 3, Block 5, CTC, First Filing <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS ON ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA <br /> <br />Kathryn Meyers, 2418 Evans Avenue, Louisville, CO, addressed the issue of the prairie <br />dog relocation on Via Appia. She stated that she attended the Open Space Advisory <br />Board meeting and voiced her agreement with the recommendation of the Board. The <br />recommendation was to halt any action on the prairie dogs until the Wildlife <br />Management could respond to questions concerning the mortality rate of the relocated <br />prairie dogs. She encouraged the City to consider other options and methods of prairie <br />dog colony management. <br /> <br />COUNCIL INFORMATIONAL COMMENTS ON PERTINENT ITEMS NOT ON <br /> THE AGENDA <br /> <br />Brown reported on the East Boulder County Arts Alive group. He stated that the study <br />includes involving other cities in the project. He noted that he looks to further Council <br />action on that project. <br /> <br />Sisk reported on the Finance Committee meeting discussion relative to the reduction in <br />sales tax revenue. He stated that it was the recommendation of the Finance Committee to <br />ask City Administrator Bill Simmons to evaluate ways to keep within the budget. He <br />noted that the revenues for the months of April and May were significantly down and the <br />Finance Committee suggested that measures be taken to tighten the 2001 budget. He <br />stated that the sales tax shortfall will also be a consideration for the 2002 budget. He <br />encouraged citizens to shop Louisville to generate sales tax dollars. <br /> <br />Mayer suggested that the Council review this issue at a work session. <br /> <br />Davidson stated that the Finance Committee has asked the City Administrator and <br />Finance Director to make recommendations for budget adjustments. Davidson noted that <br />the competition with new stores opening in Broomfield and Longmont has taken a toll on <br />local retail establishments. He stressed that critical programs and citizen services will not <br />be affected. <br /> <br />Mayer stated that since Council set the initial budget, it would be useful for the Council <br />to make any adjustments necessary. <br /> <br />Sisk stated that the Finance Committee discussed a proposed ballot question de-Brucing <br />property tax in the November election, noting that the revenue is not being utilized. <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br /> <br />
