Louisville City Council Meeting
September 18, 2001
Page 7

Mayer asked about the number of finalists to be considered.

Davidson stated that one finalist would be chosen, unless Council preferred two or three.

Mayer stated that he would not feel comfortable unless Council had an opportunity to be
involved in the selection of the Municipal Judge. He asked that the Legal Committee
advise Council as to the number of finalists.

Sisk recommended that the Legal Committee submit no more than three finalists. He
explained that when selecting Judges, the Governor chooses from three finalists. He
stated that when the Legal Committee met earlier, they discussed screening the
applications rather than interviewing all the applicants.

Davidson stated that should be left to the Legal Committee.

COUNCIL COMMENTS AND COMMITTEE REPORTS

Sisk reported that one week ago, Louisville residents Steve and Terri Gervasi lost their
home in a fire. He noted that their son Nick is a City employee at the Louisville
Recreation Center. He asked that in terms of rebuilding their home, the City provide
them every courtesy in the building permit process. He stated that the Recreation Center
employee Julie Seydel has established a fund to assist the family.

ADJOURNMENT

Council adjourn (7:31 p.m.), seconded by Brown. All in favor.

Tom Davidson, Mayor
"... ...'//

Nancy Varr~l, City Clerk

7
