Incident Report - Melting Pot - 3/20/2005 Local Licensing Authority Minutes March 28, 2005 Page 6 of 7 This incident involved a call concerning the serving of two underage people at the establishment. Koertje moved the Authority set a show cause hearing on this matter for April 25, 2005 and a special prosecuting attorney be appointed to represent the City in this matter. Attorney Light clarified the probable cause determination here is whether the establishment violated the statute and ordinance addressing the service of alcohol to minors and the show cause will address both individuals in one order. Mulvahill seconded the motion. Roll Call Vote: Mulvahill - yes, Koertje - yes, Rommelfanger - yes and Wilson - yes. Secretary's Report Hanson reported the State Liquor Enforcement Division has determined due to budget constraints they will no longer be providing seller/server training. She asked Detective Gordanier to report on her discussions with the police department. Gordanier reported she and Officer Lanphere have been talking to their own department as well as Lafayette and Erie and are planning on developing a training program in combination with the other cities. The Authority expressed their appreciation of the police department's pro-active effort. Authority Attorney's Report No report. Authority Comments A question was asked about a tasting conducted by a liquor store outside the city limits, held in a business establishment within the city limits and what the restrictions might be. It was by invitation only and there was not alcohol for sale at the event, but coupons were provided for future sale at the liquor store. Attorney Light commented it was worth looking into.
