Incident Report - Melting Pot - 3/20/2005 <br /> <br />Local Licensing Authority <br />Minutes <br />March 28, 2005 <br />Page 6 of 7 <br /> <br />This incident involved a call concerning the serving of two underage people at <br />the establishment. Koertje moved the Authority set a show cause hearing on this <br />matter for April 25, 2005 and a special prosecuting attorney be appointed to <br />represent the City in this matter. Attorney Light clarified the probable cause <br />determination here is whether the establishment violated the statute and <br />ordinance addressing the service of alcohol to minors and the show cause will <br />address both individuals in one order. Mulvahill seconded the motion. Roll Call <br />Vote: Mulvahill - yes, Koertje - yes, Rommelfanger - yes and Wilson - yes. <br /> <br />Secretary's Report <br /> <br />Hanson reported the State Liquor Enforcement Division has determined due to <br />budget constraints they will no longer be providing seller/server training. She <br />asked Detective Gordanier to report on her discussions with the police <br />department. Gordanier reported she and Officer Lanphere have been talking to <br />their own department as well as Lafayette and Erie and are planning on <br />developing a training program in combination with the other cities. The Authority <br />expressed their appreciation of the police department's pro-active effort. <br /> <br />Authority Attorney's Report <br /> <br />No report. <br /> <br />Authority Comments <br /> <br />A question was asked about a tasting conducted by a liquor store outside the city <br />limits, held in a business establishment within the city limits and what the <br />restrictions might be. It was by invitation only and there was not alcohol for sale <br />at the event, but coupons were provided for future sale at the liquor store. <br />Attorney Light commented it was worth looking into. <br /> <br />Adjournment - Wilson moved to adjourn at 8:17 p.m. Koertje seconded.
