Historic Preservation Commission <br />Meeting Minutes <br />November 19, 2012 <br />City Hall <br />749 Main Street <br />7:00 <br />PM <br />Call to Order–Chairperson Peter Stewartcalled the meeting to order at 7:02PM. <br />Roll Call: <br />Commission Members Present: <br />Mike Koertje,Heather Lewis, andPeter Stewart <br />Commission Members Absent: <br />Jessica Fasick, Kirk Watson, Florian Speier, andAquiles La Grave <br />City Representatives: <br />Scott Robinson, Planner I <br />Approval of Agenda <br />Lewismade a motion to approve the agenda as presented and Koertjeseconded the <br />motion. Motion approved by voice vote. <br />Approval of Minutes <br />The October 15, 2012 minutes will be continued until the next meeting. <br />Public Comment <br />Jean Morgan thanked the commission or saving the Grain Elevator. She showed the <br />commission photos of other Grain Silos which has been repurposed. She also showed <br />photos of the conditions of the Downer Cabins and stated the cabins are being <br />neglected. She stated the main purpose of this was to keep the commission posted on <br />their condition. <br />Stewart asked staff if they have sent a letter to the property owner as outreach. <br />Robinson stated staff has sent a letter to the owner but has not received any response. <br />Stewart stated he learned of other municipalities that have created ordinance which <br />prohibit the neglect of historical structures.
