Open Space Advisory Board <br />Minutes <br />Dec. 12, 2012 <br />Page 4 of 4 <br /> OSAB recommends giving priority to the coloring and texturing of <br />the wingwalls and headwalls of the underpass. <br /> OSAB recommends that colored concrete be used on the sidewalks on <br />o <br />the Davidson Mesa side. <br /> OSAB also recommends that landscape plantings be given priority on the <br />o <br />Harper Lake side. <br /> OSAB recommends making provision for the future installation of public <br />o <br />art, including, but not limited to, making in-lays for art. <br />IX. Discussion Item: American with Disabilities Acts (ADA) and Transition Plan <br />Summary, Presented by: Allan Gill, Parks & Recreation Project Manager <br /> New Title II ADA laws are further reaching and now require some past <br />deficiencies be addressed before March 2015. <br /> There are 17 issues related to open space. <br /> Examples of Parks & Recreation Department concerns include: handicap <br />o <br />parking (signage, materials, van accessibility); pools (one of the two <br />facilities must be 100% compliant); picnic tables; motorized vehicle <br />access to trails <br /> OSAB would like to know if the way finding program will be impacted by Title II <br />ADA requirements. <br />X. Discussion Item: Way Finding in Open Space <br /> OSAB moves to prioritize the way finding project for the Jan 2013 meeting. <br />XI.
