Library Board of Trustees <br />Minutes <br />March 8, 2012 <br />Page 4 of 5 <br /> <br />4.Technological Change <br /> <br />a.Need to embrace technological change and assist/train patrons <br /> <br />5.Preserving the Past <br /> <br />a.Provide a link to community/regional history <br /> <br />b.Maintain safety and integrity of collections and access by the public <br /> <br /> <br />Meredith noted that it is important to maintain a perspective of the past and <br />other recommendations included a focus on leadership with teens, <br />history. <br /> <br />For the 2008 plan, Board members worked with a staff member on various areas, <br />and Leslie: proposed that we start with five teams of two people for the major <br />trend areas. <br /> <br />It was agreed that the first meeting with staff would be during <br />coordinate with staff and determine a date and time. <br /> <br />IX. <br /> <br />A.Statistics <br /> <br />Statistics were distributed, and Beth noted circulation was up 6% year-to-date. The <br />circulation staff is probably working at capacity right now, but <br />Handling (AMH) system will have a positive impact <br />back on the shelves and spend more time helping patrons. The AMH system is being <br />manufactured now and will be delivered by the end of April. City Council is about to <br />decide on a proposal for selection of a general contractor that will handle this project <br />and another at City Hall. <br /> <br />B.Upcoming Events <br /> <br />The Board reviewed the Library event calendars for March and April. Beth noted that <br />over the past few months, the Library has partnered with CU Outreach Programs. CU <br />has said they have seen good results and would like to have us continue t. <br />Also noted was a presentation by Boulder County Parks & Open Spa <br />and the annual open house for National Library Week, April 8-14. <br /> <br />C.On The Same Page one-book project for 2012 <br /> <br />Beth reported that the book choice is almost finalized. This yea <br />fiction title. <br /> <br />D.In-Library Customer Service Survey Results <br /> <br />A summary of the results was reviewed, and Beth noted that a 67% <br />the time to make comments. <br /> <br /> <br />
