Louisville Historical Commission Meeting Minutes October 17, 2012 Louisville Public Library Meeting Room 951 Spruce Street 6:30 PM I. Call to order. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. when a quorum was achieved. II. Roll Call. Commission Members Present: Dan Mellish, Brian Chamberlin, David Ferguson, Anne Robinson, Lynn Koglin, Jennifer Strand. Commission Members Absent: Andy Williams, Gladys Pilz, Pat Seader, Sally Burlingame City Representatives Present: Frost Yarnell, Bridget Bacon, Beth Barrett III. Approval of agenda. Members approved the agenda. IV. Public comments. There were no public comments V. Approval of September 19, 2012 meeting minutes – postponed to next meeting VI. Meeting as Advisory Board for the City of Louisville A. Report from the Director of Library & Museum Services. Beth Barrett provided an update on library programming and the 2013 budget, which she hopes will include funding to add meeting broadcast capabilities. B. Report from the Museum Coordinator 1. Approval of Deeds of Gifts from donors. The Commission voted to accept the following donations into the museum’s collection: a. From Arlene Leggett, Louisville street signs. b. From Patricia Bradfield (granddaughter of Victor Helburg the Assistant Marshall killed in 1915 while conducting city business), family history information and scans of photos and documents. c. From Patty Lester, photos of the Louisville Fire Department from the 1950s. 2. Advice sought on donations of other artifacts being offered. None. 3. Questions regarding Museum Coordinator’s written report. There were no questions, but the Commission was pleased to see that visitor numbers are up thanks to the additional open hours made possible by the City’s extension of the Museum Coordinator position to full time.
