Louisville City Council Meeting <br />October 21, 2003 <br />Page 2 of 6 <br /> <br />C. <br /> <br />Approval of Amendment to 1998 Legal Services Agreement with <br />Griffiths, Tanoue & Light <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS ON ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />COUNCIL INFORMATIONAL COMMENTS ON PERTINENT ITEMS NOT ON <br /> THE AGENDA <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />REGULAR BUSINESS <br /> <br />BID AWARD RECOMMENDATION - WATER REUSE PIPELINE <br /> <br />Davidson called for Staff presentation. <br /> <br />Public Works Director Tom Phare reviewed the bid opening for the water reuse pipeline <br />was October 16, 2003. Three pre-qualified contractors submitted bids on the project. <br />The bids were as follows: Paramount Construction Inc., - $2,182,069.72; Southwest <br />Contracting, Inc.- $2,178,340.78; and Gamey Companies - $2,092,069.10. The <br />engineer's estimated cost for the project was $1,549.989.00. Staff recommended the City <br />Council reject all bids as submitted, and direct the Public Works Department to enter into <br />negotiations with those contractors bidding on the project. <br /> <br />COUNCIL COMMENT <br /> <br />Levihn asked if there was any explanation for the high bids. Phare had no explanation. <br /> <br />Sisk asked if Staff would negotiate with the low bidder or all three bidders. Phare stated <br />he would like to have the flexibility to negotiate with all the bidders. <br /> <br />MOTION: Sisk moved that Council reject all bids and direct the Public Works Staff to <br />enter into negotiations with the contractors bidding on the project, seconded by Levihn. <br />All in favor. Brown and Keany absent. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 36, SERIES 2003 - A RESOLUTION RESCINDING <br />RESOLUTION NO. 46, SERIES 1996, REIMBURSING LOUISVILLE <br />RESIDENTS FOR THE NORTHERN COLORADO WATER CONSERVANCY <br />DISTRICT (NCWCD) MILL LEVY <br /> <br />Davidson called for Staff presentation. <br /> <br /> <br />
